"I have been developing my skills in custom carpentry since 2016 and hold an AWS certification in structural and pipe welding from the MWI. My satisfaction comes from transforming raw material into functional, beautifully detailed furnishings."

Beam and Brick was formed in St. Louis, Missouri, when Will was still an undergrad. He got some minor scholarships but was largely dependent on himself for financial support through his Bachelor's degree. Will was always mechanically inclined, especially as the youngest member of the DeBasio Furniture family (Johnny Debasio was his great-grandfather, "bisnonno"), and he held a chisel before he could talk in full sentences, so he asked his family if he could help around the house for a few bucks. Soon after, he began taking custom carpentry commissions.
This eventually grew into a full-fledged business, constantly booked for the remaining 3 years of his undergraduate degree. We built decks, renovated kitchens/baths, and remodeled properties purchased in tax sales by local investors. Eventually, Will had to say goodbye to his business partners as they graduated and moved out of state. He moved to Columbia to start his Ph.D. and figured that was the end of Beam and Brick.

This break from the business was cut short by funding difficulties. As you may know, funding for research has been dramatically slashed, especially in the STEM fields. As a result, many graduate students who would have normally been supported by departmental stipends, TAships, and research grants have had the rug pulled out from under them.
Will restarted the business under a new(ish) name to celebrate the addition of two new team members, Sam Brooke and Jack Elise. Both Sam and Jack are Siblings, Columbia Natives, and Will and Sam are partnered. This is the W/S/J in Beam and Brick Remodeling. Although we are a young team, we have a combined 15 years of relevant industry experience in our respective trades, and we're always eager for the next project.
